Nature’s “artwork” — lithograph of the tiny carnivorous dinosaur Compsognathus longipes derived from the holotype or original fossil specimen — a nearly complete skeleton (see photograph below) preserved in lithographic limestone in Solnhofen, Germany.
Field Museum souvenir postcard depicting, in black and white, a color mural of the Late Jurassic period by artist Charles R. Knight painted for the museum’s Ernest R. Graham Hall, the old “Hall 38.” The lower left part of this mural shows a pair of Compsognathus individuals. (This postcard is one of a series reproducing Knight’s murals done for the museum.)
