Mark Hallett Art

Drawing by Mark Hallett of the early (Late Triassic) carnivorous dinosaur Herrerasaurus, done for my book The New Dinosaur Dictionary (1982). This was actually the preliminary pencil sketch Mark did prior to his doing the color painting reproduced in this collectors postcard.

Mark’s paleoart and wildlife art has appeared in numerous books and other publications, including some of the volumes in my Dinosaurs: The Encyclopedia series of books. During the 1980s, much of Mark’s artwork appeared in the Zoobooks series, an ongoing series of publications for which he was also Cosulting Art Director. Among Mark’s pieces done for Zoobooks were these scenes, as reproduced in collectors postcards.
