“Ultra Q” Prehistoric Monsters

Ultra Q was a television series produced by Tsuburaya Productions, the company that did the special effects in the older Godzilla movies.  Godzilla was  revamped as Gomess (aka Gomez) for the premiere episode, later to be followed by reworked  Japanese monsters from the Godzilla movies like the pterosaur Rodan (remade into Litra and also Larugeus), the marine serpent Manda (as “Otohime’s Dragon”)  and the earth-digging Baragon (as Pagos) — who all later were recycled for Tsuburaya’s subsequent Ultraman and  Ultra Seven TV shows.  Ragon, the prehistoric amphibious humanoid, was obviously inspired by the American Creature from the Black Lagoon.  And one Ultra Q monster, Gorgos, inherited Godzilla’s roar.

These are just some of the collectibles based on Ultra Q monsters.
