During the late 19th Century and into the 20th, the Wards company (still in business) catalogue of scientific supplies made available for purchase a number of fossil paster casts, ranging from invertebrates to complete skeletons. These “plasterotheres” were exhibited in museum and various events, including world’s fairs and agricultural expositions (this tinted postcard from the Butterfield Museum, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH).
