Postcards showing life-sized “audio-animatronic” dinosaur figures originally appearing in the Ford Magic Skyway attraction sponsored by the Ford Motor Company at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The exhibit also included prehistoric mammals and cavemen. The dinosaurs were later moved to Disneyland, Anaheim, CA, where they remain today as part of the theme park’s train journey back to the “Primeval World,” where a railroad has replaced the automobiles visitors sat in for the trip at the Fair. The Stegosaurus vs. Tyrannosaurus confrontation suggests a similar scene in Walt Disney’s 1940 animated-movie masterpiece Fantasia.
From the book Walt Disney’s Fantasia, the scene which presumably inspired the above audio-animatronic Stegosaurus/Tyrannosaurus tableau.
