Souvenir postcards from the Pleistocene Gardens at the Rancho La Brea Tar Pits in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, CA. The older white statues of the giant ground sloth Paramylodon — two of many representations of animals whose remains were found at the site — were scukpted by Auguste Rodin and installed during the mid-1930s. The later statues (below), installed at the park in 1968, were sculpted three years earlier by Howard Bell.
