Here I am in the Vertebrate Paleontology laboratory working. as a volunteer fossil preparator, on a Late Jurassic sauropod dinosaur femur. (No, the museum wouldn’t let me take the bone home and added it to my collection.)

Thomas,” the Tyrannosaurus rex, “star” of the museum’s new Dinosaur Hall that opened on July 16, 2011.  As a:”Dinosaur Institute” volunteer, I got to work a little on this big albeit subadult guy, one of the most complete T. rex skeletons yet discovered. I took the photo of the mounted skeleton.
