The above cartoon, by Gary Larson, may be the most well-known and widely distributed cartoon featuring dinosaurs ever published. Larson must be a dinosaur fan because he has done numerous cartoons featuring prehistoric creatures, the several shown here being those that I clipped out of newspapers and pasted in my scrapbooks.
This Far Side cartoon (below), included in the Prehistory book, has also had a far-reaching impact. Many palepontologists now informally refer to the tail spikes of Stegosaurus as a “thagomizer.”
