Allen A. Debus — son of reknowned geologist Allen G. Debus — is more than just a dinosaur sculptor. Al is a geologist who works for the United States Geological Survey. He is also an author, having written articles about prehistoric life for such publications as Fossil News and Prehistoric Times. With his wife Diane E. Debus he published and edited the magazine Dinosaur World.
Additionally, Al has co-authored several books related to dinosaurs and other “prehistoria,” including one on sculpting the animals, another a historical look at paleoart over the decades (a tome for which I wrote the foreword).
