My den houses a series of scrapbooks, compiled by me over well over half a century, preserving newspaper clippings, magazine articles, interviews, movie and product advertisements and other items about things prehistoric that I pasted on their now-brittle pages, including newspaper comic strips and single-panel cartoons — not so much well-known titles like Alley Oop, B.C., Calvin and Hobbes, The Far Side, Russ Maning’s Tarzan and The Flintstones, but rather those not generally known for such subject matter, some very obscure or even forgotten today. These are just a few examples of some of those pasted-down comic strips and single-panel cartoons. Sadly, the very old ones are in extremely fragile, deteriorating and even crumbling condition.
