Made by Marx, this Flintstones Hunting Party set — based on Hanna-Barbera’s hit TV cartoon series — included three dinosaur figures, the Stegosaurus copied (albeit “reversed”) from the classic early 20th Century model sculpted by paleontologist Charles Whitney Gilmore. The Tyrannosaurus figure was based — also “reversed” and with the mouth open — on this famous painting by artist Charles R. Knight, done in 1906 for New York’s American Museum of Natural History.
