A suite of life-sized dinosaur figures inhabited the Sinclair “Dinoland” exhibit at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The figures — which moved their heads, mouths, etc. via internal mechanisms — were made by the Jonas Studios in Churchtown, New York. Jay DeBow and Partners, Inc. , of New York City, issued numerous 8 x 10 glossy photographs taken of the Jonas dinosaurs before they left Churchtown and distributed them widely to promote the exhibit and the Fair, some of them winding up in museum and private collections. Here is just a small representation of those photos.
